A hotel within the centuries-old walls of Szeged

Our hotel is located in downtown Szeged, at the very beginning of Petőfi Sándor Street, in the heart of the city’s cultural and business life, in the university district, just a few hundred meters from the well-known sights.

Dugonics Square, Kárász Street, and the REÖK Palace are just a two-minute walk away, and you can reach Dóm Square, the banks of the Tisza River, or the JATIK Congress Center in five minutes. No matter where you have dinner in the city center, you can be sure that you won’t have to walk far afterward to get back to your hotel room and rest.

The hotel, which reopened in September 2021, welcomes tourists visiting Szeged with a new name, elegant interior design, impressive common areas, a brand-new suite, and “refreshed” comfortable rooms.

Our hotel was built in 2002 on the foundations of a bourgeois residential building constructed four years after the 1879 Great Flood. Until September 2020, it welcomed guests as Hotel Korona, and in September 2021, we reopened it with a refreshed style, featuring interior design elements that evoke the atmosphere of Italy.

Our guests can enjoy a delicious and varied buffet breakfast in a unique setting—a beautiful vaulted cellar that’s over a century old, where a rustic style evoking the past blends with a youthful, contemporary look. A fireplace and oak tables are paired with colorful, modern chairs, softly draped curtains, and mood-enhancing lighting. Observant guests may even spot old bricks bearing coats of arms on the walls.

Guests arriving by car can use our private parking lot. Everything you need for a wonderful stay in Szeged, to explore the city at your own pace and wander around.

Over the past three years, we’ve worked hard to always offer our guests a little more, something more beautiful, and something better. Here are a few examples:

  • Ongoing renovations and improvements: carpet replacement, heating system upgrades, solar energy utilization
  • Introduction of new services: pillow selection, hypoallergenic bedding, a play area, and hot sandwiches at the lobby bar (upon request)
  • Renovated spaces, elegant solutions: updating the landscaping in the inner courtyard, renovating the restaurant restrooms
  • Greater focus on guest comfort and the guest experience: our guest rating has increased by 3 points over the past 2 years
  • A guest-centered approach in every respect: continuously expanding breakfast options, a permanent selection of gluten- and lactose-free items, healthy breakfast options, new in-room amenities, and online check-in
  • Sustainability and environmental awareness: taking action against food waste, sourcing breakfast ingredients from local producers, supporting culture

For us, the *** Superior rating is not the end goal, but rather a new source of motivation to work even more consciously and with even greater dedication to ensure our guests’ comfort and satisfaction, and to offer a place to stay every day where it feels good to arrive.
